December is here which means there are loads of holiday activities happening around the city. If you're looking to get festive this month but want to stay close to home, I've put together a list of my favourite things that are happening right here in Burnaby that will be sure to get you into the holiday spirit.
If you do one thing this holiday season, make sure you check out the Burnaby Heritage Christmas. A holiday favourite, The Burnaby Museum gets fully decked out for the holidays in period decor, Christmas light displays and old-fashioned fun. There are a range of family fun activities happening throughout the venue including crafts, heritage carousel rides and holiday baking. There is also entertainment scheduled throughout the month including theatre performances, community choirs, street characters, musicians and of course Santa Claus himself. Best of all, it's free!

The holiday season wouldn't be complete without a visit to big guy in red. There are many places to catch Santa in Burnaby this season including the local malls. Metropolis at Metrotown has pictures by donation and Lougheed and Brentwood Mall also have Santa photo sessions available. You can also catch him at the City of Burnaby's Skate with Santa event on Saturday, Dec. 19th from 12:30pm - 3:00pm at the Bill Copeland Sports Centre.
Burnaby has so many holiday activities to offer this year, which one are you most looking forward to?
